Reviews and Recommendations:
RACQ has worked with Jillian Whiting and Suzanne Stark as our primary media training providers for several years. As an organisation that is in the media every day in Queensland and earns more than $50 million a year in equivalent advertising value, appropriate media presentation is extremely important to RACQ. Jillian and Suzanne have provided core training for non-media executives as well as “touch-up” training for the more experienced. In all cases they have added value and made us better at our roles. Their experience and professionalism is unparalleled and they offer a genuine X factor in the crowded market of media presenters by working on key facets such as voice and posture/body language rather than just the normal media survival kit. Much of the training from their work has flowed through to better public speaking and presenting outcomes for our participant. The RACQ does not hesitate in recommending Media Potential as a media training and presenting provider.Paul Turner is RACQ’s Executive General Manager Advocacy and has worked for more than 30 years in media, politics, public relations and corporate communications.
We called upon Jillian and Suzanne’s expertise for the 2016 Google Impact Challenge.
This is a competition for not for profits with a prize pool of $4.5 million – a major chunk of which would be judged on a 90 second pitch at Google HQ in Sydney.
As a health research institution our staff are accustomed to speaking at global conferences or lecturing in front of 200 students. But this event was very different and needed a new approach which is why we sought out Media Potential’s expertise.
We prepared a rough pitch which both Jillian and Suzanne dissected and improved markedly by making it more conversational and much more emotive. It was incredibly important not to dumb down the pitch and lose the science and credibility of the project and I feel this was achieved through a careful balancing act.
Advice was also given on delivery including tone of voice, speed and which words and phrases needed special emphasis. The feedback they gave was incredibly supportive and confidence boosting. Thanks so much.

Jillian and Suzanne’s wealth of industry experience coupled with a healthy dash of wit and humour all helps keep Media Potential ahead of the media training pack. With a focus on practical outcomes, their refreshing training approach gets the best out of participants and provides a strong base to develop future media skills and opportunities.

The media landscape can be quite intimidating, particularly for those that are required to front the camera. Media Potential has been a great source of training instilling confidence, knowledge and know how on how to manage interviews. We gained so much from one session and continue to engage them to assist us in developing our key messages and strategies for dealing with some very tricky media and presentation situations.
