Experience:
Anthony's 30 year media career has spanned all three sectors of the media (commercial, ABC and community) and I have received numerous industry and government awards for my work. I have a thorough knowledge of the broadcast industry and its law, monitoring trends and emerging technologies. I have also been a broadcaster and content director with a solid understanding of the internal workings of broadcasting. My background in leading and managing change is extensive having recently worked for Fairfax Media as General Manager (Radio Division) Brisbane. I was responsible for providing strong leadership, vision and management for the Fairfax Radio Network as well as improving the corporate profile for Fairfax Media. I was also responsible for managing over 80 staff, hiring and performance of staff, managing budgets and developing reports. My work included all outgoing formal communications and the writing and issuing of media releases, as well as the implementation and execution of brand communication strategies as well as the placement of external marketing (outdoor, press, digital and television). A key component of my role was engaging with key stakeholders, political leaders across all divisions, community groups and the private sector as well as speaking on behalf of the network. As a communications trainer, I have over 25 years experience working with the corporate sector. Companies include Hastings Deering; Grainco Australia; Australian Red Cross, Xstrata, Queensland Law Society, Uniting Church of Australia, Australia Post and Energex.
